During the three and a half years of renovation, meticulous attention was paid to even the smallest details to ensure originality and authenticity were not compromised. Indeed, the house remains exactly as it was at its construction. The stone slabs on the exterior lower terrace were carefully removed from the floor, cleaned exclusively by mechanical methods, and returned to their original place. Everything was hand-brushed and sandblasted, without any chemicals or other treatments.
Beauty inside and out
The windows and doors had to be replaced due to wear and tear, but they are identical in dimensions, color, and appearance to those found in the house before the renovation. The same goes for the facade. The entire house was plastered with materials for restoring old buildings, churches, and monuments, and painted with eco-friendly paints that do not pollute the environment.
Our goal was to preserve all the elements, and details we could save, and everything else was crafted from top-quality, natural materials, all hand-made, of course.

Villa Motovun is not just a house
When you experience the sunset on this terrace, you’ll wish for that moment to never pass. Simply unforgettable. You will be fascinated and speechless. We know it and we guarantee it. The first morning coffee, a cup of tea and breakfast… on that same terrace… you won’t even know which time of day you find lovelier.
You enter the villa directly into the open space area of the ground floor, where there is a large living room, a dining room and a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen. On the ground floor, you have at your disposal one bedroom with its own bathroom and a separate toilet for guests. The exit from that bedroom leads you to the terrace, and once you see the view from that terrace, you will rarely want to go back to the room. The terrace is also accessible from the living room. Bordered by low stone walls and a specially designed wrought iron fence, and due its position, this is a terrace where a magnificent view stretches endlessly, over boundless vineyards, olive groves, green forests and hills, all the way to the sea.
A modern, black, metal staircase will take you from the ground floor to the first floor, into the sleeping area with three beautiful bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom, wardrobe and closet for storing personal belongings. One of them is the master bedroom, with a large, king-size bed, a spacious bathroom, a comfortable area for sitting or reading. In that master bedroom there is also a wood-burning fireplace, bringing additional warmth and atmosphere during your stay in the colder month with a book and a glass of high-quality wine, before sleep.
For socializing and entertainment, in the living room you have a beautiful piano, so if you play, don’t be shy, feel free to play, sing, hang out.
Just below the stairs, there is a technical room, where you can use washing machines and clothes dryers, everything you might need for hygiene, detergents and toiletries.
In the first room of the tavern, we offer you a stay in a warm Finnish/bio sauna, after which you can immediately enter the shower, as well as a relaxing armchair for resting between any number of sauna cycles.
The entire central area of the lower terrace is open and equipped with comfortable deckchairs, for sunbathing during the day or for enjoying the warm evenings.
